TCL to serve as interim co-lead counsel and consolidated two proposed class actions that raise antitrust claims against Defendant Amazon.

On Monday, November 27 2023, U.S. District Judge John H. Chun of the Western District of Washington appointed attorneys from TCL to serve as interim co-lead counsel and consolidated two proposed class actions that raise antitrust claims against Defendant Amazon.

In his order, Judge Chun appointed attorneys from TCL, Wexler, Boley & Elgersma, LLP, Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP, Gustafson Gluek PLLC, and Terrell Marshall Law Group PLLC, as interim co-lead counsel.

Judge Chun also approved Plaintiffs’ motion to consolidate actions, moving to group the two separate matters (Hogan v. Amazon.com, Inc., No. 2:21-cv-00996-JHC and Hopper v. Amazon.com, Inc., No. 2:23- cv-01523) under the existing case number for Hogan. TCL and co-counsel filed this case in the Western District of Washington, alleging that the company violated antitrust laws by using its monopoly‑level power to force third‑party sellers to purchase Amazon’s expensive Fulfillment (logistics) services in order to gain favorable placement on Amazon’s website.
