In re Bank of America Credit Protection Marketing and Sales Practices Litigation, 11-md-2269-TEH (N.D. Cal.)

As an executive committee member, we represented Bank of America credit cardholders challenging the imposition of charges for Bank of America’s “credit protection” program.  The complaint charged that Bank of America imposed credit protection without the consent of the cardholders and/or deceptively marketed the service, and further that Bank of America unfairly administered its credit protection program to the detriment of plaintiffs and the class.  The court approved a $20 million settlement with  Bank of America that also required changes in the marketing and sale of credit protection to consumers.
